On 1 June 2025, your super or pension account with the Goldman Sachs & JBWere Superannuation Fund (GS&JBW Fund) will transfer to Mercer Super Trust (Mercer Super).1

Super members: Your new super account will be set up in the Goldman Sachs Superannuation Plan (New Plan) within Mercer Super.

Pension members: Your new pension account will be set up in Mercer SmartRetirement Income, Mercer Super’s retirement product.

Important update
 

From 1 June 2025, Retained and Spouse members will be able to elect to have employer contributions paid to the new GSS Plan with Mercer Super.

If you would like your employer to contribute to your new account with Mercer Super from 1 June 2025, you can complete a choice form and provide it to your employer.

What happens next


There’s nothing you need to do for the transfer to take place but there are some things you may wish to consider before the transfer date.

29 April
Confirmation letter: You’ll be issued a formal Significant Event Notice from BEST Superannuation Pty Ltd (Trustee of GS&JBW Fund) confirming the upcoming transfer to Mercer Super.

2 May
Transfer Guides: Your Transfer Guide will be available on or around Friday 2 May 2025. You’ll receive a notice letting you know how to access your guide.

2 May - 16 May
Investment consent: Members with active accumulation accounts and retained accounts will need to provide consent between Friday 2 May and 5pm Friday 16 May 2025 (AEST) if they want their super balance to be invested in Mercer High Growth (rather than Mercer SmartPath®) from Sunday 1 June 2025.

The deadline for providing consent has passed.

20 May
Limited Service Period (LSP) begins: To ensure your account details are accurately transferred to Mercer Super on Sunday 1 June, there will be a Limited Service Period during which you will have limited access to your GS&JBW Fund account and new Mercer Super account. The LSP will be in effect during the following periods:
  • for pension members – from 5pm on Tuesday 20 May until Tuesday 17 June 2025 inclusive (AEST); and
  • for all other members – from 5pm on Friday 23 May until Tuesday 17 June 2025 (AEST). See the FAQs for a list of transactions that will be processed during the LSP.

1 June
Mercer Super account set up: A new Mercer Super account will be set up for you on Sunday 1 June 2025. The LSP continues.

18 June
LSP ends: You will have full access to your Mercer Super account. From Wednesday 18 June 2025, you will have full access to your Mercer Super account and will be able to request the full range of transactions on your account, including making a new investment choice.
