Interpreter services


If English isn’t your first language, we can arrange for an interpreter through Translating and Interpreting Services (TIS) National.

Simply ask our Helpline team for an interpreter when you contact us.

Accessibility support


We offer support for anyone with a hearing or speech impairment through the National Relay Service (NRS). To use the NRS, call 1800 555 660 or register online via www.accesshub.gov.au/about-the-nrs.

Mental health and emotional support

Lifeline (24 hours): A free and confidential crisis support service providing anyone experiencing personal difficulties with access to 24-hour support via telephone or online chat (13 11 14 or lifeline.org.au)

Griefline: Support for anyone experiencing grief, providing access to free telephone counselling and support (1300 845 745).

MensLine (24 hours): Counselling and resources for men in crisis (1300 789 978 or mensline.org.au)

Family and domestic violence

Support for young people

Kids Help Line (24 hours):  A free 24 hour counselling service for Australian kids and young people aged 5 to 25 years. (1800 551 800 or kidshelp.com.au)

Support for older Australians

Elder Abuse Helpline: A free service that provides support and information about elder abuse (1800 353 374). 

Support for indigenous communities

13yarn.org.au: The first national crisis support line for mob who are feeling overwhelmed or having difficulty coping. 

They offer a confidential one-on-one yarning opportunity with a Lifeline-trained Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Crisis Supporter (13 92 76 or 13yarn.org.au)
