  • How can a Mercer Financial Adviser help?

Our licensed and highly skilled financial advisers, and the teams that support them, have significant experience in the areas of wealth accumulation, investments, insurance, super contributions and retirement strategies.

Your adviser will initially meet with you, to understand your situation and goals, before recommending strategies specifically designed to help you achieve your agreed financial goals.

  • When to seek comprehensive tailored financial advice?

Comprehensive advice is suited to anyone who is ready to review their financial situation holistically.

The advice you receive takes into account your complete financial situation including any investments, assets, personal insurances you may have outside of super.  Your financial plan can include strategies to maximise your investment outcomes, your tax benefits and your Government entitlements, to help ensure you can live the lifestyle you desire in retirement.

Our advisers can work with you to tailor and implement a financial plan that creates a brighter future for you and your loved ones.

Many people seek financial advice as a result of a significant life event, such as:

    • Changing jobs
    • Buying a home
    • Creating a business
    • Planning for retirement
    • Receiving an inheritance
    • Health emergency

All of these life events present potential opportunities and challenges.

Seeking financial advice can help to ensure you maximise opportunities and help navigate these life events.

You can call our Helpline Advice team on 1800 682 525, or complete the call back form.

Following this conversation they can determine whether simple no-cost advice, provided as part of your membership is sufficient, or if comprehensive tailored financial advice is appropriate.

  • What is the cost of comprehensive tailored financial advice?

Everyone’s situation is different, so the cost of preparing and implementing comprehensive financial advice will vary depending on the complexity of the advice required.

Before proceeding with any advice your Mercer Financial Adviser will assess your specific advice needs as well as explain the fee associated with the development of the advice and, if required, to implement the recommended strategies. If you choose not to proceed with the advice provided you will not be charged any fees.

If you choose to proceed, you will be provided a clear and transparent explanation of all charges and how they can be paid. You can choose to pay your fee directly, or from your super.

  • Can you get comprehensive tailored advice outside of Mercer?

We have full confidence in the Mercer Financial Advice team, however, we understand you may wish to seek advice from a financial adviser outside of Mercer.

If you’d prefer to seek advice from an external adviser, however you choose that adviser, we recommend that you check their credentials on the MoneySmart Adviser Register. This will help ensure that the adviser you choose is properly authorised and trained to give you the financial advice that you need.
